Race Details

The Santee Endurance Adventure Race will be held in and around the waters, swamps, upland forest, beaches of Lake Moultrie and the surrounding areas. This race is designed for both novice and veteran adventure racers.  Teams will cover approximately 30-40 miles of some of the most beautiful (and challenging) landscapes the Lowcountry of SC has to offer.  Teams of two or three racers will canoe (8-10 miles), mountain bike (15-20 miles), and trek (5-8 miles) through a series of checkpoints and challenges.  This is not a triathlon – you will canoe, bike and run in no particular order, and maybe multiple times. Racers are completely self-supported, carrying all mandatory gear, food and water throughout the race.  Racers will be required to plot UTM coordinates on the provided map to navigate to each checkpoint.  The team with the most checkpoints in the allotted time will emerge victorious.

Not quite ready to hang with the veterans?  That’s ok. The Santee Endurance Adventure Race is well-known for being beginner friendly.  Your race directors will be conducting a basic land navigation clinic Friday evening before the race. You will learn basic compass work, plotting a course, plotting UTM's, and race strategy. This clinic is FREE. Events offering a land navigation clinic often charge $50-$100.
